Foley, Ala. – On Saturday, June 27, 2026, Riviera Utilities responded to a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) after a contractor not affiliated with Riviera Utilities struck a sanitary sewer force main near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and South Bay Street in Foley, Alabama. The incident allowed wastewater to enter a nearby drainage ditch. The flow was contained to the drainage ditch, and it did not reach any stormwater drainage inlets. Response crews promptly investigated the incident, completed necessary repairs, and performed cleaning and disinfection of the affected area.
