Foley, AL – On Monday, October 20, 2025, the Utilities Board of the City of Foley responded to a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) that occurred after a contractor struck an unmarked sanitary sewer force main near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and South Pecan Street in Foley, Alabama.
The incident allowed wastewater to briefly enter a nearby drainage ditch. A small portion of the discharge reached a regional stormwater holding pond, while the majority was absorbed into the ground. Response crews promptly investigated the incident, completed necessary repairs, and performed cleaning and disinfection of the affected area.
