Remember, showers use less hot water than a bath - 10 gallons for a 5-minute shower, 25 gallons for a hot bath.

From its modest beginning back in 1916, Riviera Utilities has grown immensely. Today, Riviera Utilities Electrical Department serves Daphne, Spanish Fort, Point Clear, Loxley, Silverhill, Summerdale, Foley, Elberta, Lillian, Bon Secour, and Magnolia Springs with electrical power which accounts for approximately 39,500 customers. The electrical infrastructure includes 100 miles of transmission lines, 825 miles of overhead distribution lines, 270 miles of underground distribution service, with 20 substations at 18 different locations.

Riviera Utilities has constructed new substations in Seminole, Lillian, and Point Clear and modifications to other substations. As the utility moves forward, land is being purchased for a substation in the eastern shore area to provide more capacity, better reliability and redundancy of the system in case of outages. The utility maintains electrical service from their offices in Foley and Daphne.
